I attended last nights memorial as an individual who believes all should be remembered and paid tribute to, upon their demise. Given the untimely and horrific terms of Mr. Sam's departure, I was also curious as to which public officials would attend an event that if one were a cynic, of little political traction. In attendance were...........
Hennepin County Commissioner Gail Dorfman Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak Minneapolis Council President Paul Ostrow Minneapolis Council Vice President Robert Lilligren Minneapolis Council Member Natalie Johnson-Lee Minneapolis Police Chief Bill McManus Members of the Minneapolis Police Department Minneapolis Fire Chief Rocco Forte Members of the Minneapolis Fire Department I was concerned by Mr. Coleman of the Star Tribune, his description in today's article of the above individuals as a "smattering" of public officials. The dictionary defines "smattering" as fragmented or superficial knowledge; I believe that term could not be farther from the truth. Events of this type illustrate what individuals view as important in life, and perhaps more profound, what is important in death. Lee R. Eklund Victory REMINDERS: 1.
