I have requested to the Native American Community to Boycott the Franklin
Street Bakery. Currently, there are no natives working there. It's interesting
that some people know the controversy surrounding the bakery, yet they will not
mention anything about it. Especially the Ventura Village Neighborhood Group.
The Ventura Group in my own opinion, are not a diverse group and have never
been one. We have the highest concentration of Natives in the Phillips
Neighborhood and in Ventura Village. Why are we not represented on the Board etc?
2.6 Million dollars and more, was funneled into the Franklin Street Bakery by
the American Indian Neighborhood Development Corporation with the approval of
the Ventura Village Neighborhood group. Top administrators who makes
decisions at AINDC are non- Native American.
Its a struggle everyday for us Natives Americans to live the regular normal
life that most people live, now you know why!
