a new Roosevelt library be built at 23rd Avenue South and 38th Street. Not only did this recommendation solve the problem of an antiquated, non-accessible building, but it placed a new building (with likely lower operating costs) within walking distance of more actual patrons.
Speaking of the Roosevelt Library, what is the status of the so called 'mixed use' developement. I like the mixed use concept but not for a city library building. A library should be a landmark, not a leased storefront space in an apartment complex. Would the library or city lease the apartments as part of the development? As everyone knows, the city doesn't make a very good landlord.
