I've been working in large apartment complexes for many years now
and know that an extraordinary number of perfectly good bikes are abandoned
when tenants move on. Any landlords or other apartment workers on this list
will concur.
I've had difficulty in the past getting rid of some of these.
I've culled the best for myself ,friends and family, but we have quite enough
now. I'd like to know if there are any services out there that might be up to
rehabbing and distributing perfectly good bikes.
A little profit could certainly be involved, I've never had one
cost more than forty bucks to tune up (I do the basics but bring them to a shop
for gears and wheel alignment).
Anyway, if anyone knows of a service, there are a number of
building owners, managers etc. on this list. Let's get the bikes back on the
streets.
On a completely different note: If Jan Smaby is ever linked up to
this list I'd sure appreciate her insights on the drug sentencing
controversies broiling here. She was on the ground floor when the sentencing patterns
were drawn. Also, I could return that album I borrowed forty years ago.
