I listened to Don testify at the legislature last
Thursday night. His testimony was profound. His
presentation was honest and from the heart. He had
everyone in the room held spellbound and some of us in
tears when he was done. I felt proud to have been a
part of the moment and proud to have Don Samuels as
one of our council members.

He spoke of life in the inner-city and what it is like
for those under siege by drug dealing. He spoke of it
as an industry and the calloused hardness of the
defiant employees of that world. He certainly is an
eloquent speaker.

He energized me and made me feel that my work on this
issue has value and merit.
