Why weren't the same arguments made for Target Corporation, Ryan Construction, Allina, Sears, Cherryhomes & Minn, Dick Brustad, George Sherman, Hunt & Gregory, CSM Corporation, and an endless list of tax avoiders also known as non-Profiteers, etc. etc.?

Here are some previous posts that appear to me to have a tone critical of the public assistance these organizations and individuals received. These may not be the strongest examples out there, but they illustrate a general attitude. I'd search for more, but the interface is slow and I should be working:

Allina:

Brustad:

Brustad, Sherman:

There were more I didn't get to look through. I'd say there are a number of people on the list who are critical or uneasy with many different forms of public money benefiting well-off private interests. You can count me in that category.
