When CVS went into my hometown of Mentor Oh, which is in the Western Reserve
historical district, they petitioned the city council to let them tear down a historic
building to put in the pharmacy with a drive-thru. People protested not only the
tear-down but pointed out the fact that their was a perfectly good pharmacy across the
street. Needless to say, within two years of building CVS closed it's doors, leaving
the city with an ugly empty building. (Oh and the pharmacy across the street is still
open and thriving).
