Eli challenged me by saying that the consultants have not yet been hired. Eli is right, but I never said, either in my post or in my article on my site, that they've already been hired. But I have made it known that I don't want them hired. And that if they're hired, it will probably cost the district (and, the taxpayers, by extension), much more money than they have to spare. I find it pretty funny that David Jennings hasn't budgeted for the consultants, or limited the amount of money he's willing to pay for the consultants. And you think it'll be cheap?
Anyhow, I suppose it's possible that the consultants may do a good job--but I wouldn't bet on it. Why can't some of the people at Pencil-Pusher Central (807 Broadway) do that? All they have to do is hold public meetings. How strenuous is that??? I think that they want to avoid having public meetings, or have public meetings when it is too late. PLUS, recall that people were angry when the community wasn't consulted when David Jennings was hired as the permanent super. NOW, they want to have only selected individuals in on the talks to draft interview criteria for Jenning's successor. Do you think that that is any better for the community? I don't. Look, my main point with this post and my previous one is to try to stop these slick consultants before it's too late. I hope you'll join me in writing the school board (not that it'll do much good!)
