Monday evening, the Crown Hydro project people met with some of the
neighborhood residents. Among the reporters present was Chao Xiong of the
Star Tribune. His report can be found here:

After reading the arguments presented by Steven Deruyter and Tyrone Bujold,
I'm convinced this project is a Bad Idea all around. It:
1. Risks the Mill Ruins Park area, the Stone Arch Bridge and the
surrounding historic buildings and ruins for relatively little financial
compensation to the Park Board.
2. Risks lowering the property values of the many surrounding residential
properties who pay a large amount of property taxes to the city, county
and even the Park Board.
3. Generates a relatively small amount of electricity at the very
highest price Excel is allowed to pay (and thus charge) its consumers.
4. Puts the Park Board at risk for future lawsuits.
There are other reasons to oppose this project, but those are the biggest 4
which persuade me.
