It is my understanding that Council Member Dean Zimmermann, Ward 6, has a smoking ban ordinance similar to St. Paul's. He is working on gathering support from his Council colleagues for this ordinance.
All those who support having smoke-free restaurants and bars, as well as other public establishments, should let their Council Member know that you want them to sign on to Council Member Zimmermann's proposed ordinance. I'm sure there are plenty of smokers who frequent St. Paul bars and restaurants that would be willing to spend their cash over here. God knows that I'd be willing to walk up to Fridley or Columbia Heights if Minneapolis ever passed that kind of ordinance.
