Speaking of wind machines on top of building check out the proposed design for the building that is replacing the World Trade Center which has seven layers of a different kind of wind machine on it - yet wind generators. Yea - yea not Mpls. but I, too am always looking for innovative things we should be trying here in our Eco-City. And tonight I must say, every other hour in my mind goes back and forth on to do or not to do this Crown Hydro project. What a dilemma this one is?

In the interest of this conversation, has there been any study of the
energy generation that could be acheived by placing wind generators on the
skyscrapers downtown? The wind voloumn seven hundred feet up from the street is
considerable and pretty constant. The "masts" have already been built, why not
rent the roofs and put an energy farm up there?
Just a guess, but I bet there's more megawatts above our heads than in
the century old mill races below our feet.
I don't wish to denegrate in any way the concept of Crown Hydro, I think
it's a cool idea in an historical place. I'd love to see a mock up or small
working generator in place.
I just think we're in a different time.
