I see where some Council Members are questioning whether the Twin Cities 
Marathon's decision to award prize money to Americans only violates the city's 
anti-discrimination ordinances based on national origin. I wonder if the ban on 
prize money to non-Americans also violates state statutes? Here is the link:

If the TCM backs down, it will be quite an embarrassment as this decision has 
received significant national play. It may be more embarrassing if a large 
number of African and Russian runners enter out of protest and the top American 
finisher and purse recipient finishes in 20th place.
