If Kahn is advocating for more bike racks and safe bike commuting, she's
representing my interests as a sometime bike commuter. When I biked to
the city-owned Orpheum Theater Saturday to cover the DFL convention for
the Star Tribune, the tiny bike rack outside was full, and I had to lock
onto a light pole, which is probably illegal.

Strengthening the bike commuting system is also mentioned prominently
in the transportaiton chapter (chapter 8) of the Minneapolis Plan.

As for the last day of the session, ask a legislator--whether DFLer in
the House or Republican in the Senate--how much power a member of the
minority caucus has.

And this, from a state legislator representing Mpls., on the last
working
day of a most unproductive legislative session. What can I say?
