Mr. Stack, with all due respect, my original comment didn't reflect my views on the Crown Hyrdo issue but what you had said earlier....
"It seems like more people every year are appreciating the river in Mpls as a wonderful natural amenity." That was the statement that got me since I do still believe that the river has become more of a selling tool for rele estate than an "appreciated natural amenity" and that is what I had orginally responded to. As for finding ways to blend middle income families such as mine with low income and high income - the latter does not seem to work as neighborhood values, and therefore, rent goes up. Therefore I would need to move to a lower income neighborhood - many of whch are infected with crimes I do not want my seven-year-old daughter exposed to - and so it seems my only choice will be to leave. Although I'm disatisfied with some of the political aspects of Minneapolis, downtown has been my home for over a decade and my daughter and I will miss it dearly. We've been very lucky to have been able to live here this long. I just don't see a way around the above, however, and so I'm dreading the inevitable. I make too much to qualify for low income housing and too little to buy one of the condos going up outside my window as I write this. But that's my problem. Just wanted to clarify that my comment was not Crown Hyrdo based. Shawn Marie Christenson Central - Downtown - West REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
