I loved "Get Smart," and this idea is a real stroke of genius. Lee R.
Eklund is to be congratulated for a workable variation of the proposed amendment
to the St. Paul ordinance that we could also adopt here in Minneapolis.
Lowering these cones would not be much different than the suction devices that
automotive repair facilities must have to hook up to the exaust systems of
automobiles with engines running. And they are multipurpose considering: flatulance,
excessive perfume, extreme body odors, and countless other olefactory
annoyances. And the problem of providing access to servers can be dealt with through
inclusion of an airlock/dumbwaiter on the sides. With local fabrication it would
also boost the economy.
I never doubted that the boob tube would eventually be of some positive
use to society besides entertainment and baby sitting. Mr. Eklund was inspired
to a wonderful solution and I will never bad mouth the tube again.
