I believe that Mr. Atherton is correct about Rep. Kahn's bill.  The barrier
to her legislation is Republican control of the House, and my understanding
is that the Republicans in Minnesota are against an overall ban.  Even if
they supported it, I am skeptical that they would allow Rep. Kahn to propose
her bill.  Any realistic attempt right now to ban or limit smoking state
wide will have to come from the Republican Party, either in the House or
from the Governor.

Representative Khan proposed a smoking "ban" with an
option for smoking-rooms.  I think that Listers should
be clear about whether they are proposing a total smoking
ban or regulations that insure that the desires of 
smokers non-smokers are accommodated.
