I could argue that we are now subsidizing businesses and penalizing homeowners.
You have a chicken and egg problem here. Assuming capitalism and the goal of a
stable economy; businesses can't exist without employees and employees can't
exist without businesses. Being overly unfair to either benefits no one. The
goal should be to find a workable balance.
