On average, I watch the cops pull drivers off Lake St. street (loading their cars on tow trucks) once a day between Park and Portland--two blocks. They are pulled over for other reasons, but lack of a license yanks the car. Lack of insurance may also get the car yanked. It's not a sometimes thing, but the everyday tedium of police work.Dyna, on what are you basing your claim that MPD does not arrest people for driving without a license? I did a ride-a-long the spring of 2003 during which the officer was running plates and specifically pulled over a vehicle and ARRESTED the man for driving without a valid license. I am not aware of any department policy stating that officers are not to enforce that law.
