According to a Skyway News article, there will be a public hearing Wed. Oct-27 regarding use of the "boot".
http://www.skywaynews.net/articles/2004/10/25/news/news17.txt Just wondering what people think of this issue. I have never had my car booted or towed to the impound lot, so I am not sure which is worse. However, I have heard that, and it sounds logical to me that, getting booted is a lot less painful than having your car towed. Your car can not be damaged by the towing process. The car is right where you left it, so you do not have to figure out how to get down to the impound lot to get it back. Are the towing companies lobbying against the boot? The boot would surely cut deeply into their profits. The boot would also reduce to use of the impound lot. Maybe the portion of the impound lot west of the planned Van White Boulevard could be turned into parkland - as the Bassett Creek Valley master plan envisions.
