6-2 had an hour wait in line this morning at 10:00a.m. I didn't mind waiting but I have to tell you I am not happy with Dean Zimmermann for shrinking the number of precincts in Whittier from 4-3. Bad move Dean! The 6th ward is one of the lowest voter turn out wards in the state. We are supposed to be encouraging more people to vote by making it easier for them. For some people waiting in long lines is a turn-off and it turns them away. Thankfully, that didn't seem to be the case today.
I also went to the DFL/Kerry-Edwards volunteer gathering spot at Zurah Shrine. The volunteer "get out the vote" effort is HUGE! I too have been door knocked to death over here. It looks like the low voter wards may actually be mobilized like never before in history. I have never seen political action like this in my history in this neighborhood. Perhaps others who have been in the political scene alot longer than me have stories of other elections going back in time. I do think this one will make history. I close by saying if you haven't voted you need to. By the people for the people!!!! Go peeps!
