There was no self-serving going on here - I would love it if Don Samuels or others would join and become active in the Green Party. I was wrong in my original statement about thinking Don and independent rather than a DFLer however his actions as suggested in your last line saying " He's willing to work with
whomever to get the job done or address an issue. mihgt indicate some non-partisan neutrality on his part.


As far as the party label thing - Eric please I am not a kindergartner about politics and assumed your answer would be your answer however, I wish people would get over it and go back to the line above... "He's willing to work with

Your statement here again would be nice if it was the norm rather than the exception....
Sometimes a candidate runs with a party label who
could have probably won without it. They have a strong
base already due to community activity, publicity or
something of the such.
The trick is for the candidate to understand their
strength in the community, and the level of
support/distaste for the opposition/incumbent.

Glad to see a St. Paulite so interested in the inner workings of Mpls politics.
