I'm glad David and Steve posted those article links as well.

Having now read them and refreshed myself on this issue, I'm finding myself
in agreement with Liz Wielinski that there's no real justification for
increases in pension benefits at this time, even minor ones.

Especially coupled with the point that RT Rybak and Paul Ostrow made that if
they had agreed with that deal for the police pensioners, the other two
funds would have had their hands out in a hot second, which pretty much
would wipe out any "savings" that us taxpayers would see.

Finally, if I have to choose who to rely on for good governance between
Patrick Born and Brian Rice, I'm sure glad our City Council and mayor are
listening to Born.

Isn't this the same Brian Rice who is so good at protecting taxpayer
interests that us taxpayers are getting nailed for $2.5 million in Neiman
Sports Complex overruns? Yeah, that's who I want to take advice from about
"responsible governance."

If Rep. Kahn can't understand what our Council and mayor are doing here to
protect taxpayer interests and wants to threaten our city leaders with
punitive legislation, then maybe she's the one who needs to go, not Ostrow,
Samuels, Schiff, Zimmerman, Goodman or mayor Rybak.
