But... Yes, I know the difference because I also listen to KFAI. My point regarding KBEM might be stated as its power relative to the usual power for commercial radio stations. When I'm on a trip south of town, KBEM is the first to fade while I can still get many other Twin Cities stations all the way south to Rochester. In any case, my ultimate point on power is that KBEM does have a lower-power frequency. Somewhere, not all that far away, there is another station at 88.5 and the FCC limits the power of both to make sure that there is no interference. Obviously, lower-power licenses are worth less because the potential audience is lower just because of the physics of radio-signal power. Steve Cross Prospect Park REMINDERS: 1.
