Me thinks former CM McDonald, during her tenure, might not have shown a steady stream of adulation for Deputy Chief Lubinski, which seems to be the sin qua non for receiving a Stonewall 'acceptable' designation.
DFL Senate District 63 Chair Weinlick's suggests she might not have gained an 'acceptable' rating from the Stonewall endorsement committee because she is not seeking endorsement of 13th Ward delegates before running in the primary election, but, then, when you consider that the Stonewall endorsement committee overturned the âunacceptableâ designation their general membership gave Mayor Rybak, that rationale doesn't hold water either--I mean if Stonewall is consistently insistent upon grassroots-driven candidacies. Me thinks the reason might be the Lisa McDonald is a gifted leader (as in she does not conform to every nuance of what some group of specialized political purists believe), which is quality Stonewall and many DFL activitists generally don't appreciate. One only need look at the list of DFL-endorsed candidates that have never made it to statewide constitutional offices to bear this out.
