I have absolutely no problem with selling naming rights. It happens all the time with university buildings -- including libraries -- and I never felt repulsed (for example) by borrowing books from the DeWitt Wallace Library at Macalester or studying in any of the sundry named reading rooms at the U of M. If these donations can improve the libraries, and if there are no accompanying restrictions on library collections, it seems like a reasonable way of responding to tough financial times.
