Greetings all,
There's been construction all year on Como Avenue in my neighborhood. It's
finally nearly done and I'm sure the local businesses are letting go a sigh
of relief.
On my walk home today I noticed a rusty iron bar sitting on the boulevard
near where the construction is occurring. On closer inspection I'm pretty
sure I know what it is . It's a switch lever from the old Como line. I
considered picking it up, but wasn't sure what I'd do with it.
I don't doubt that the same thing is still used on rail yards, so maybe it
doesn't have any intrinsic value, but does anyone know if there'd be anyone
interested in such a thing? I think I'll also drop an email to the
Minnesota Transportation Museum. If someone wants it I'll go pick it up.
