This topic came up this weekend at a house party for ward 2 city council
candidate Cara Letofsky hosted by Park Board Commissioner John Erwin and
myself.  Cara was very excited by the possible opportunity to expand our
city’s bicycle infrastructure.  She spoke about her years on the Midtown
Greenway board of directors, on the city’s Capital Long-Range Improvement
Committee, and her demonstrated commitment to a bicycle and
pedestrian-friendly city.

Cara talked about the Midtown Greenway model with a major backbone with
"green fingers" or access routes that spread outward from the greenway,
and into neighborhoods, to provide inviting approaches and encourage
people to use the greenway for recreation and to change their
transportation choices.  I am excited about Cara’s vision for the future
of the City of Minneapolis and I am proud to support her candidacy for
