Through a survey of hundreds of Minneapolis residents a year and a half ago, GetBoB found that what Mr. Brandt is saying is true - that voters' confidence in their choices wanes as they approach the bottom of the ballot. "We" are confident the vote we cast for mayor is a relatively well-informed one but we are less sure of our decision for, say, library board.

So - let BoB help you overcome your uncertainty. Come one, come all and bring your neighbors for goodness sake to GetBoB's general election soiree:

This Wednesday, October 26 from 7-9pm at DelaSalle High School

GetBoB will provide sample questions for each office to get the conversation started and just enough blood sugar in the form of root beer floats to keep the dialogue alive. We also have a voter guide and of course, THE CANDIDATES. Great chance to chat with candidates about those things you think are important before you make your decisions about who's going to chart the course of the city for years to come...

After all, there's no better endorsement than one based on your own experience.

BRANDT:
I suspect that they may have more weight for the down-ballot contests involving many candidates, such as the library, park and school boards.
