Dorie, what Ray Marshall actually asked was "Who is going to have to leave
(sell their home or business location) so that all these housing and
commercial units can be constructed?" And, that is a good question.

I didn't reply to that question because I can't. If this regards the 38th
St. Plan, I think Council Member Schiff thouroughly answered that question.

If you are referring to the 50th St/VA Station plan, neither I, nor anyone
else, has any idea of who, what or when. Again: There is no plan yet--real
or otherwise. The City's planning process for that area hasn't even started
yet.

The CPED's Planning Dept has a set of standards regarding the entire
planning process, and the standards for the 50th St/VAMC process will be no
less than for other areas. And, like the other area plans, will include
much public notice and input.

The only "plans" that I've heard about (but have not seen), were drawn up by
an affordable housing developer invited into the neighborhood by a
church-based group who's members are all from outside the station areas.
We've heard that some of the area's residents have been approached by that
developer about selling their properties.

NENA's Board, on the other hand, has taken the position that any
site-specific development should wait until after a Master Plan is developed
for the entire station area, and approved by the City.

Refresh my memory... I don't remember Kevin standing up front taking the
heat. I do remember 200+ residents firmly united in opposition, making their
point very clear to Colvin Roy, who responded accordingly. I also remember
that she had already talked and met with LCC, residents and Opidan
Development prior to that night. It would be incorrect to say that she just
showed up and took all the credit.
