Have you ever noticed that in the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, the same
individual is
responsible for Development, Revenue Generation, Finance and Record-keeping?
Do you really want
the money-man responsible for all official record-keeping?

The money-man has consistently discounted the value of keeping minutes. A
record-keeper wouldn't
do that. Recently, one of our elected representatives requested financial data
from the money-man
and was refused an answer.

Effective leaders would seek out and incorporate best practices in governance.

Whose feet have been held to the fire for the $2 million lawsuit at 'The Fort'?
 Why do I have to
put out a press release calling for 'Sunshine in Government' to get the Park
Board to produce
meeting minutes? Why do the People for Parks support sloppy governance?

We need more financial checks and balances on the Park Board, and greater
separation of duties.
This is your $60 million/year.
