Keith Reitman has a lot at stake in this election. As he pointed out in a
recent post to the issue's list "All Northside rental property owners face this
danger..." "It is vital to your interests that you act now to support the
re-election of Natalie Johnson-Lee."
Not only does Keith own dozens of rental properties in our neighborhoods with
several dozen housing violations and hunderds of police calls... but...
He also has a huge land sale (400K) at stake.... there is a plot of land on
West Broadway, around 27th & Upton (where the Petro Stop & service station
sits)... that he has potentially sold to be developed into a subsidized housing
development for ex-offenders to live when they come out of treatment &
correctional facilities. Natalie has promised to support this project. Don
Samuels has promised to oppose this project.
Keith Reitman has a lot at stake in this election.
So do the residents of North Minneapolis who desire a vibrant, healthy
community where homeowners and renters can both live on safe streets with
attractive homes & yards, clean & legitimate businesses.
And the residents who also desire a city council person who will not cave into
the greedy developers who look to suck the last bit of wealth from the city by
preying on the Northside's growth & revitalization potential by repeatedly
ignoring neighborhood voices that oppose these wrong development projects.
I want a city council person who does not take campaign donations from
developers just days before the crucial vote needed for these projects to pass;
projects that the neighbors have strongly opposed and obtained petitions
supporting that opposition.
I want a city council person who does not verbally oppose the growth of the
adult entertainment industry, but then turns around to collect donations from
these same businesses.

That's why I am supporting Don Samuels by voting for him on Tuesday November
8th.
