Firstly, make sure that a relationship is set up between the ID for a member
(memberD) in the members table (tblMember) and the ID for the member in the
results table.

Secondly, create a query (qryMemberName) based on tblMember. The query would
have 4 fields (in this order) -
MemberID
expName:[LastName] & ", " & [FirstName]
Last Name
FirstName
Uncheck "Show" for LastName and FirstName
Select Sort "Ascending" for both LastName and FirstName

Thirdly, make sure that MemberID is in the list of values for the record
source for your form.

Fourthly, use the wizard to build a combo on the form. Select the following
options:
Screen 1: Select "Find a record on my form based on the value I selected in
my combo box"
Screen 2: Select qryMemberName
Screen 3: Select MemberID and expName (in that order)
Screen 5: Make sure width of MemberID column is 0 (check "Hide key column"
checkbox)
Screen 6: give a title for your combo box
Click finish

Subject: [ms_access] Combo Box Help

I have a club database, there is a Table and Form for Race results.
I want a combo box to select and display race results for a member
based on the last name first name. The problem is the combo box shows
each of the last names Many Many times.. Tried to connect the combo
Box selection to the members tablem (only lists each name once) without
any sucess.
How do you use a different table in a combo box to select rows to view
in a form??
Hope this is clear... Thanks for the help, you guys were great on my
last question..
