I am charged with the task of writing a boat dock reservation DB in Access. I am "fairly" familiar with Access so most of the DB is already written and working. ie: A guest table & form, A dock table & form (containing the arrival date, departure date, slip#, boat size & ref to guest table etc.) and a "slip table" containing the slip# and max boat size it handles. My delema is finding available slips that have not already been rented. (or eliminating rented slips whichever is easiest). It sounds like it should be simple but is driving me to drink. It's really a small setup but a large headache. It's only 8 slips, I have a table with the guest's info, a table with the rental info and forms for both. I "think" I need a query that once the desired dates for a rental is entered, looks at the table with all the previous rental info and find an open slip for those dates for that size boat. Does anyone know of an existing DB for rental that I can use as an example and maybe use the logic from it? I imagine ANY form of rental DB could contain the info I need. Like a motel, car rental etc. or MAYBE, someone can just make a suggestion as to how I can perform this? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. When I said I was "fairly" comfortable with Access, I mean I can and have written several Access DB's BUT, I know little of VB. I use mainly the wizard and have seldomly used coding. So any suggestions must be simple PLEASE. Maybe a query suggestion....Thanks AGAIN in advance for any help. =Dave R.= If you own a Hotel, A B&B, An Inn or a Full service Resort YOU'RE LOSING MONEY DAILY.......START GETTING IT BACK.
