Hello all:

I am new to the group and fairly new to Access. I've actually used it
for several years, but only to create very simple databases--no scripts
or coding. However, I started a new job and have to create some
databases and have a quick question.

One of the databases I'm creating is an action item database. What I
would like is for the forecolor of a particular field to change
depending on what information is entered.

For instance, the fieldname is 'Status'. I want the color to be red if
the status is 'In Progress', blue if 'Complete' and green if 'Unknown'.
I have no idea how to do this. I guess I would have to do that as a
report, but I don't want to have to change the color everytime.

I forgot to add that I'm using Access 2000 (I work for a local
government in a rural community, so we're waaay behind the times).

If someone could help or point me in the right direction, I would be
most appreciative.

Thanks so much,
Elaine
