Great! Then it's really just the viewing and editing. I was a bit afraid as
my expertise ends at transposing, so if there would be anything more to the
music theory side, I might not even qualify. I've read the wiki page and
subscribed to the MusicXLM list, but i'll take some time till they confirm.
I've looked up some general and some erhu scores. The general ones seem to
be easily to readable, and rewriteable as western ones (by hand, haven't
really thought through the algorithmic side yet, but that can't be so hard
either). Or is there any non-instrument specific notations in jianpu that I
overlooked? I think the erhu-specific ones can't really work backwards...
Anyways, if MusicXML doesn't support the needed extra info in the files,
they could be written into them as specially beginning comments (till they
start to support them)? I don't think that integrating jianpu's stuff into
the MuseScore native format (or any other jianpu compatible app-specific
format) would be impossible if given time, and this way the docs saved as
XML wouldn't loose extra info after being reopened.
But these are just ideas, so I'm not sure... Anyways, thanks for the info!
:)
