Hum, yes, I know it is not the best.
When I began ideU I did not catch how to custum mse 'stat" files and I was much
more confortable with the traditional "ini" files.
So for each I used a double "ini" file but I agree, this is not good, I have to
re-check this and do all with the mse stat file, it is on the "todo" list.

Yes, in the version 2.6.6 is used the "mseconst_lang.pas" way and all the
languages data are compiled with those units.

In last version 2.8.0 it is the "dynpo" way that is used, and /lang directory
with all the po files.
You may change the content as you want, without recompilation of ideU.

In last commit of mseide-msegui you may choose to use or the traditional
"mseconst_lang" way or the "dynpo" way via a '-dmse_dynpo' fpc parameter at
compilation.

Never mind, I'm used to this, just give a remark at times.

That's fine, and certainly makes translation and localization a lot
easier. And it might resolve some of the limitations of the "mseconst"
method, e.g. missing phrases that are not defined there but put
directly in a caption field of a component or so. The .po file
mechanism might be capable to even capture these, if I understand it
correctly. This, of course, requires handling the text replacement at a
rather low level, around some "draw_text" routine or so.

Indeed.

I used version 2.6.6, that was the latest available version when I
downloaded it. I'll get the new version and try again.

Ah yes, I missed the second one, because of the directory, I looked for
a plain file of such a name only. What's it good for to use TWO, even
different, such files?

This "setting" already exists in 2.6.6, but it seems to have no effect.
On a new start, the ide still comes up in english, regardless of
whether this is checked or not.

> Sorry but I did not understand how you get "Access violation" error,
> is it with last release of ideU ?

It's with version 2.6.6. Oh, I just saw that meanwhile, it DOES honour
the language setting, although there's a short moment after start up
where it shows in english. Maybe I didn't notice the switch before...
But yes, the "Access violation" comes up with the "last" version I
(still) use, namely 2.6.6. It says "Cannot read project" and displays
the very path and file name that was saved from within before, along
with the access violation complaint. And it does NOT load anything else
but a form belongigng to the project. I can switch to the pertaining
source file, but it does not show it as saved, but opens a default
window only. It doesn't even remember a different font - I dont't like
the huge characters used within a tiny little window, as set up as
"standard", so I usually and customarily set it to "Lucida Console",
which displays much smaller glyphs and thus allows a much better view
of the source text.
(But, as an aside, I DO like the nice frame around the context menu
that I just saw in the editor. It makes reading much more pleasant.)
Well, I think I'll better stop here, get me the really latest version
and continue testing (and translating...) with that one.

In the meantime, have a nice time and keep up the good work!
