That are good things to read.

Well, yes, I'm aware that modifications will have to be regarded...

There are a few entries I'm not certain what they should mean as I
couldn't locate all. And there are "a few" items that are missing from
the .po file and thus cannot be translated (I included a couple
regardless). I put a number of comments into the .po file, and the
entries I'm not clear about I marked with a sequence of "#"s.
I encountered the following problems
- msgid "Quit" (Signal 3): this is also used for the menu entry
"exit" to leaving the ide, which is not appropriate
- msgid "&Raise-Break": it's function is unclear - does it mean
"Raise exception on encountering break point" or something else?
- msgid "Before run gdb script": this is not translated!
- msgid "Hint Color": this is not translated!
- msgid "Reset Designer": this is not translated!
- msgid "Beautifier", "Verschönerer": I couldn't find a use for it,
so I couldn't find an appropriate translation
- Column headers of tables and tags of subform entry fields are not
translatable in general
- The context menu of (at least) the source editor is (are?) not
translated nor translatable
And there's one thing that may create a real problem with the current
implementation of .po file use on Linux:
Linux, and Unix in general, do not keep applications in dedicated
directories, but use to lump them together in one or several combined
"bin/" directories. So there's no good place to put an application
specific "lang/" directory. In contrast, translations for Linux
binaries commonly are kept in a centralized "locale/" directory (mostly
"/usr/locale/<language id>/LC_MESSAGES"). Interestingly, those files do
NOT use the extension ".po" but ".mo", but are otherwise structurally
nearly identical.
If it's not seen appropriate to use this place for msegui applications
also, there might be the following alternative places to put such files:
- in home as ".<application name>"
- in home's ".config/" directory as "<application name>.po"
or under a "mseide-msegui/" subdirectory with such a name
- in "/usr/lib" under "mseide-msegui/" (or similar), named as under
the ".config" directory in user's home (requires root)
- in "/usr/share" under "mseide-msegui/" (or similar), as above
And a couple general "gripes":
- The "close" marks (crosses) on the editor's tabs don't work for me
- Sometimes, dialogs don't appear completely within the screen area,
only a corner or part of the title bar are displayed. That makes
them hard to see at all sometimes. I'd prefer them to appear under
the mouse cursor, because I use automatic window raising, so a dialog
might get hidden after showing up somewhere else, but others might
want it differently. Of course it was optimal if that was
selectable...
- Another neat thing was, if the ide main window could be positioned
at a user definable place on the screen if called without an open
project. Now it probabely appears always at it's design position.

Don't know, I didn't yet find the time to begin a project there,
although I do have a candidate one for microcontroller software.

I'll sure have a look there!

I'll see.

Sadly, as said above, I've not come to use either yet.
Sorry for the long-winded message, I hope you still can make good use
of some part or another.
And keep up the good work!
