There are embarrassing things I would admit to in public.

Having an 9 track tape with ISODE on it is not one of them.

However it would make a nice scratch tape assuming it is labeled correctly.
Since I'm not sure ISODE would fit on one tape, I guessing there will be
several files added to the end of whatever is on it. I thought X.500 and its
kin were all gone but apparently the US Govt is still steamrolling ahead with
its GOSIP/X.500 email plan which I thought I critically wounded back in 94
when I added "or SMTP" to the list of approved migration systems.

The tape I have is a 3M Blackwatch 700, 6250 cpi.

Does the tape drive have a 2nd spool or is it one of those fancy drives that
had an internal 2nd spool? If not, do we need to find another reel?

So what is the process to get the data off tapes?
