He was told that when he posted the exact same question/code in
the MSP430 mailing list (the yahoo one) a week or two back. He
apparently didn't like that answer so he decided to ask
somewhere else.
About a quarter of the postings in that list are from people
who are missing more than a few clues regarding the C language,
so they claim there's something wrong with their compiler.
Needless to say, there almost never is anything wrong with the
compilers, and the poor guys who are trying to support the
compilers spend much of their time teaching a junior-high
school level "Intro to C" class to people who refuse to listen.
