I've just been reading the info on Upgrade Sequencing for System Center 2012 R2 ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn521010.aspx ) It does mention some baseline CU levels for each component part.
We recommend that you update all of the System Center 2012 SP1 components with the most current update rollups. This may add a sprinkle of value to this thread, or not. I've had an MVP *recommend* that you apply CU3 before upgrading to R2 at our user group meeting. I cannot recall the specifics. ________________________________ From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: RE: [mssms] SCCM 2012 R2 do you need CU3? I was looking for info on whether you should have CU3 (or any CU) before upgrading to R2. Seems you just need SP1. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj822981.aspx#BKMK_UpgradeR2Checklist You cannot upgrade a site to System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager until all sites in the hierarchy run System Center 2012 Configuration Manager with SP1. The version of cumulative updates for Configuration Manager that are installed at sites is not evaluated and you can upgrade a System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1 site regardless of the cumulative update version that is installed, or even when no cumulative update is installed.
