If you were staying at the Best Western by the TMC, you'd probably be looking around 15 minute Metro ride (one way) as I think you'd get on at the Dryden/TMC station and get off at Main Street station. Then about a 6(?) block walk. Not fun, but do-able....Especially if this is your only option for being able to go to TechEd...
I think they have the lights timed so the Metro pretty much has the right of way. I don't remember riding it and stopping at traffic lights..... http://www.ridemetro.org/SchedulesMaps/RailSched.aspx On Wednesday, April 2, 2014 11:59 AM, Roland Janus <[email protected]> wrote: Googled TMC J, Texas Medical Center. Plus, they are 1-2 blocks from the Metro line. I go to a conference every year in Houston where the attendance is 60K+ over the course of 4 days. Logistically, I don't think there's ever been any issues. $6 cab rides within the loop, $3 daily Metro fare. Does it add up over the week - of course. For me, it's the benefits that I get from the conference that far outweigh the inconvenience of riding the metro or taking a cab. With MMS, I was never lucky enough to stay at the conference hotel or anywhere near, so I always had to take a cab and/or the monorail, but at least I was able to attend.....
