This seems to be coming up a lot lately. To my knowledge, there isn't an
official support statement other than it has always worked and still should.
I've heard of multiple cases however where using a 32-bit boot image caused
issues that went away entirely when using a 64-bit boot image. No, that doesn't
help, but as the world transitions to UEFI, you're going to have to do this
anyway, so it's probably a good time for everyone to just start using the
corresponding boot image. Yes, this will add a couple of small challenges, but
they can be overcome by separating the two unknown computers into their own
collections (among other ways).

bit WinPE

No WinPe works as it should.
It under the Setup Windows and Configuration manager step the problem comes.
The step will complete in winpe, reboot the system to start the windows setup
and it's during this setup win7 will bluscreen complaining that a critical
device/driver failed. I have then traced it to the network drivers

At what stage do you get the Bluescreen? Is it when you are entering the winpe
phase?

Are you using UEFI or BIOS?

I have run into a very interesting issue with W7 X64 deployments.

If we use 32Bit WinPE for this Task Sequence we will get a blue screen during
installation if the machine has an Intel Nic
The same TS will work for Virtual machines (VMware)
If we use 64Bit WinPE for the same Task Sequence it will install correctly.

This leads to the conclusion that there is some issue with the Intel drivers
and the install driver package step in my TS. But since it works if I just use
64 bit boot media for the same TS it also seems to be related to the boot
media. As I understand it is a supported scenario to deploy an X64 OS from a 32
bit PE.

I have no ideas currently how to fix this so help please :)
We do need the 32 bit PE so that we can fix Bios settings on our HP laptops in
TS before they get an OS installed (TPM config for example)

Best Regards
Mats
