it does a lot more than that.
If you do it as a dependency, then you cannot upgrade previous
versions unless you begin building collections and all that old skool
crap. We have 1 collection we deploy software to. User go to the
portal and request it, and if it requires approval it goes to service
manager, otherwise they get it right away.
