No, your existing boot images *should* remain as they were, unless they were
based on the original boot WIMs that are initially installed by SCCM. If you
created completely custom boot images using WIM files outside of SCCM's then
those I'm sure have to remain unaffected.

If your boot images are using the Program Files\MS Config Mgr\OSD\Boot\i386 or
x64 as their source I could see the R2 upgrade replacing those, then SCCM may
see that change and refresh the DPs. That's all a big maybe though.

If your boot images are using WIMs in a different location, like a share on
another server then I feel confident that those would be untouched.

It was probably because the R2 installer only knows to expect and look for the
older version of the ADK. You had the newer ADK for Update 1, so the R2
installer didn't find what it was expecting.

That's my guess. I don't have an SP1 setup to try it against.

Subject: [mssms] CM12 R2 Upgrade question

I have a nice hydration kit I use to build a fully functional lab with CM12
SP1. I went to mess with R2 and the upgrade process, and was forced to
downgrade the ADK from ver 8.5 to 8.1.

Did I miss the boat somewhere on something?!
