We have a similar situation, though it's pretty close to a 50/50 split between
machines with Outlook (staff machines) and machines without (student lab
machines). We have our image building task sequence generate two images (with
the only difference being the Outlook config) and then merge them into a single
WIM. It takes up a minimal amount of extra space and doesn't require any
additional Office maintenance during imaging.

Subject: [mssms] OT - Office 2013

Hey folks,

We have Office 2013 baked into our core image, and during imaging we install
some other apps. One of our areas wants to have Outlook & Lync excluded,
though. Is there any way to programmatically remove these two apps from Office
during imaging, or are we looking at having two different customization files
and installing Office during imaging?
