You're right. It says you have to uninstall office and reinstall with the new
config. I am only adding features to an existing, not removing so maybe try the
2 images in one wim solution. That is very neat and is also kind of single
instancey in that you don't increase the size of the wim or the ts that much.

If you think you are going to have a lot of different office configs try using
the bare minimum in the base image and then patching it in the ts, in
combination with the multiple images in the wim. That should keep the ts time
down whilst retaining the flexibility.

This article seems to say this isn't possible. If you could share exactly how
you're doing this, I'd appreciate it!

I recently had to do something similar. Office baked in and needed a different
config for a site. So I created a new msp and patched office during the ts,
worked fine.
This was adding a couple of components and redefining the default profile but
you can quite easily create a msp to remove outlook and lync and apply during a
ts step with a condition.

Also, installing the patch is a very quick step in the ts, as opposed to
installing office.

Hey folks,

We have Office 2013 baked into our core image, and during imaging we install
some other apps. One of our areas wants to have Outlook & Lync excluded,
though. Is there any way to programmatically remove these two apps from Office
during imaging, or are we looking at having two different customization files
and installing Office during imaging?
