The surface 3 will come with the time all messed up. You need to set the time to within a few minutes of the server time. You have to charge it up completely and then boot to the installed OS and install all of the firmware updates and driver - double check that the time is correct. When you take it to MS updates it will install one OS update then reboot. Then you can see the driver and firmware updates. You have to install these before it can see the docking station.
Once you navigate that entire clusterf@ck you can pxe boot it just fine.
