As much of a fan I am of Windows 10 and will jump on it the day it is released for my Surface Pro 3, I won’t be doing mass deployments the same way. Apple’s updates aren’t exactly smooth in their iOS version updates. That is a completely closed ecosystem. It’s their phones, their OS, and apps they approve you to download. I think it’s around 50/50 if my wife’s iPhone needs to be restore afterwards or not. My android was better with OTA updates, but still had issues. If Microsoft thinks they can do the same with full blow Windows, more power to them. It’s the same Microsoft that wouldn’t allow in place upgrade from 8 to 8.1 for enterprise clients? I’ll be sticking with the task sequence for the next upgrade.

People tend to forget that Windows 10 is actually still beta and not even close to being finished. From: Marable, Mike<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 29, 2014 3:47 PM To: SMS<mailto:[email protected]> “Windows 10 will change OS and software deployment…” I’m sorry but I’d have to beg to differ. So far I have had little luck with using the in-place upgrade that Microsoft is pushing in the real world. To be honest I’m finding it just as problematic as it was in prior versions of Windows. We may be “old school” on this but when the time comes to migrate from Windows 7 to Windows 10, as it stands right now we’re going to do it the same way we went from XP to Windows 7; using wipe and load task sequences run from SCCM. I would love for all of this to just work and for us to be able to use it. But in healthcare change happens very slowly. Everything has to have a proven track record before we will let patient safety rely on it. Or… just roll out the pieces Kim believes are missing. Intune is a full Azure service now which means any new feature can be rolled out anytime and can take advantage of Azure power. Windows 10 will change OS and software deployment, btw, so take those off the list. Hi All, I’ve expressed these views a couple of times already to colleague mvp’s and people interested in hearing my opinion. It tends to be fragmented in talks though, so I decided to put my thoughts into writing, and dedicate a blog post to it. So this is a shameless plug for that blogpost: http://bit.ly/1vn7hGu Now, discuss ☺ Met vriendelijke groet / Kind regards, Kim Oppalfens | Managing Consultant & MVP| OSCC [OSCCD32aR00aP02ZL][cid:[email protected]] • +32 16 60 91 43 È +32 475 86 98 35 • [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ________________________________ Legal Notice: This email is intended only for the person(s) to whom it is addressed.
