A few other factors... M$ really wants the recurring monthly revenue provided my monthly subscriptions. They will be willing to anger a lot of people to achieve this. A lot of enterprises will be unwilling to move stuff to some third party data center. Banks, government, the military, medical, etc.
Cloud will be very attractive for small to medium business that cannot afford dedicated IT staff, but it will always be cheaper for large enterprises to manage things themselves. Also, if MS decides to eliminate SCCM, someone else will just build it and sell it. If MS thinks it can force us to the cloud, it will. Once folks start jumping ship and they lose market share they will stop.
