Yes! It's the main place we direct staff to for software installations. Once fully configured, it's an excellent tool. You may have seen that in SCCM CB you have the option to merge the App Catalog and Software Center, which is certainly the way forwards, but currently in its first implementation it's not great as its buggy and needs more ability to customise.
